Is American Apparel doing okay?
American Apparel has been around since 1989, and is one of the few brands who focused on actually producing their blank garments in the United States.
There were a lot of issues with the company's founder, and they expanded into retail too much and too quickly, and filed for bankruptcy in 2015 and laid off 2000+ American employees.
But it's still doing okay. The garments are made overseas now, but says it is "sweatshop free." And we still love printing on the garments, so if you're looking for custom screen printing on American Apparel, we want to hear from you.
